An official allegedly belonging to the Dalit community was forced to kneel down and apologise to a DMK councillor in Tamil Nadu. A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet, even though the authenticity has not been verified.

The footage shows officer Muniyappan apologising to councillor Ramya Raja while onlookers can be heard demanding that he express remorse for his actions.

BJP leader K Annamalai shared the video on X and condemned the incident on social media, What the DMK parades as Social Justice is, in truth, nothing more than Social Injustice," he wrote on the microblogging site.

"A public servant belonging to the Scheduled Caste community in Tindivanam was cornered continuously by DMK Councillors and was made to apologise by falling at the feet of the DMK Councillor Ramya. This is not the first time DMK has humiliated public servants. This is not an isolated incident; earlier, DMK Minister Thiru Raja Kannappan had abused a government servant with caste slurs," his X post further said.
