Addressing a public meeting in Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government that the Trinamool Congress is acting as a roadblock in the development of the state.
Slamming the TMC government, PM Modi alleged that the benefits of the welfare scheme of the Central government do not reach the people of West Bengal.
“The money that the central government sends for the development of the state is being looted and is spent on the TMC cadre,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi said that the BJP believes that until West Bengal develops, the 'yatra' of 'Viksit Bharat' will not be successful, adding that in the past 11 years, the central government has extended every possible help for the development of West Bengal. PM Modi said, "TMC Jabe, Tabhi Ashol Poriborton Ashbe (Once TMC goes, only then real change would come in the state.)"
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the various metro railway projects in Kolkata in line with his commitment to world-class infrastructure and developed urban connectivity.
He visited the Jessore Road Metro Station, where he inaugurated the Noapara-Jai Hind Bimanbandar metro service from Jessore Road Metro Station and Sealdah-Esplanade metro service and the Beleghata-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay metro service.
In addition, through video conferencing, he flagged off the Sealdah-Esplanade metro service and the Beleghata-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay metro service. He also undertook a metro ride from Jessore Road Metro Station to Jai Hind Bimanbandar and back.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister also visited Bihar and laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore at Gaya. He flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express running from Gaya to Delhi.
PM along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the Aunta-Simaria bridge project constructed over the River Ganga on National Highway 31 in Begusarai.
West Bengal CM Banerjee, on the other hand, has been accusing the Centre for cuts in welfare funds. Banerjee recently claimed that the central government does not offer flood and disaster relief funds for her State but offers help to Assam in times of need.
During her three-day visit to Northern Bengal, she had said that despite the Centre stopping funds for crucial programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and MGNREGA, the state government has continued these initiatives using its own financial resources.
