Here are 10 key seats to watch out on Friday.

Raghopor: The constituency, which witnessed a voter turnout of 68.54%, is known as the stronghold of RJD. Lalu Prasad Yadav won it in 1995 and 2000. His wife, Rabri Devi, represented it thrice. Their son Tejashwi Yadav has held it since 2015. Tejashwi is up against BJP leader Satish Kumar who is back for a third attempt. However, with 13 candidates now, including the Jan Suraaj Party's Chanchal Singh, vote fragmentation could play a role in this constituency.

Alinagar: This constituency, which saw a turnout of 60.18%, voted in the first phase. The BJP has carried out an experiment by fielding Alinagar in Darbhanga is the BJP's bold experiment, fielding 29-year-old Maithili Thakur, trained in Indian classical and devotional music. She is up against seasoned RJD veteran Binod Mishra. In 2020, the Vikassheel Insaan Party’s Mishri Lal Yadav won this seat by only 3,101 votes.

Mokama: This is one of the most-talked-about seats, with key contestants being NDA's Anant Singh, MGB's Veena Devi (the wife of don-turned politician Surajbhaan Singh), and Jan Suraaj's Piyush Priyadarshi. Mokama voted in the first phase and recorded a turnout of 64.77%. The heated rivalry came to the fore on October 30, when 1990s-era strongman and Jan Suraaj Party leader Dularchand Yadav was shot dead in a taal (wetland). It is alleged that supporters Anant Singh, 58, popularly known as “Chhote Sarkar” are behind the murder. Singh and two others have been arrested for Yadav’s murder. Neelam Devi won on an RJD ticket in 2020.

Tarapur: It is Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary (BJP) versus Arun Kumar (RJD) here. The constituency, with significant Kushwaha, Yadav, Muslim, and Scheduled Caste populations, is known to be a swing seat. For a decade, this was a JD(U) fortress, with Neeta Choudhary winning in 2010 and Mewa Lal Choudhary in 2015 and 2020.

Mahua: This seat showcases the Yadav family's internal rifts. In 2015, Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap won with a 43.3 per cent vote share. But in 2020, he moved to Hasanpur, leaving Mahua to the RJD's Mukesh Kumar Raushan. This time, Tej Pratap formed Janshakti Janata Dal and is contesting from this seat. He is facing RJD's official candidate, Mukesh Kumar Raushan and Lok Janshakti Party's Sanjay Singh presenting the NDA.

Kishanganj: Located in the Seemanchal region, this seat has a high Muslim population. The seat was contested by Congress candidate Qamrul Hoda and the BJP’s Sweety Singh. In 2020, Congress’ Ijaharul Hussain bagged the seat with 34.20 per cent vote share.

Sitamarhi: This seat is considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita. The NDA has promised to build it as a world-class spiritual city, if voted to power. The BJP has nominated Sunil Kumar Pintu, the RJD has fielded Sunil Kumar, while the Jan Suraaj Party has announced Ziauddin Khan as its candidate. BJP’s Mithilesh Kumar is the sitting MLA from the Sitamarhi constituency.

Lakhisarai (Lakhisarai district): BJP's Vijay Kumar Sinha, who has represented the seat since 2010 and served as Bihar's Deputy CM, is eyeing a fourth consecutive term. He is up against Suraj Kumar from the JSP.

Bettiah: This is a key constituency in the border area of West Champaran district. In the last election, BJP registered a massive win with over 18,000 votes. This year again former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi is expecting a big win from the seat. Other key candidates from Bettiah are Congress candidate Wasi Ahmad from the Mahagathbandhan and independent candidate Rohit Sikaria.

Chapra: This constituency witnessed an intense three-cornered fight. A stronghold for the BJP, the seat has seen party candidate CN Gupta win consecutively in 2015 and 2020. Popular Bhojpuri singer Khesari Lal Yadav is contesting from the Chhapra seat, which falls under the Saran Lok Sabha constituency on an RJD ticket. His main opponent is the BJP’s Chhoti Kumari.
