'Bharat ki baat sunata hoon': Manish Tewari shares post after Congress keeps him out of Op Sindoor debate

Hours after it was known that he would not be among Congress speakers during the debate on ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the Lok Sabha, Manish Tewari on Tuesday posted patriotic poetic rhymes on his official X handle.

In a post on X, the Congress leader quoted a report by Moneycontrol and shared the lyrics of the song "Bharat Ka Rehne Wala Hoon" from the Bollywood movie "Purab Aur Paschim," which was released in 1970.

“Hai preet jahaan ki reet sada Main geet wahaan ke gaata hoon Bharat ka rehne waala hoon Bharat ki baat sunata hoon - Jai Hind,” Tewari posted on X. In English, it roughly means “where love is the tradition forever, I sing the songs of that land. I am a resident of India, and I speak of India’s glory."

Tewari, along with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who were part of the delegations India sent to various nations to highlight its stand against cross-border terrorism, were reportedly excluded from the speakers’ list on the "Operation Sindoor" debate.

Amar Singh, the Fatehgarh Sahib MP who was part of a delegation, is also not on the list. Veteran Congress leaders Anand Sharma and Salman Khurshid were part of the delegations. However, they are not sitting MPs.
