This rough, brown skinned fruit, also known as sapota, is a treasure trove of good health. The juicy, sweet flesh of the fruit, with its caramel-like flavour, is rich in vitamins (A and C) and B-complex, and is loaded with several essential minerals like calcium, potassium, iron, sugars, fibre, ascorbic acid and phenolic compounds.
