All India Congress Committee (AICC)  President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has appointed Mumbai’s Gujarati Leader Manish Rameshchandra Shah as Vice Chairman of Minority Department  of  AICC. Presently, Manish Shah is President of Gujarati Cell of Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).

Manish Shah is considered to be a close & trusted confidant of Shree Gurudas Kamat -General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Ex- Cabinet Minister.  Shree Gurudas Kamat congratulated Manish Shah on his appointment.

51 years old Manish Rameshchandra Shah belongs to Muli village, near Surendra Nagar in Gujarat. He is an active worker of Congress and plays prominent role in fight against the government. Thus Smt. Sonia Gandhi has entrusted him with this additional important responsibility.

 2500 years ago, the Jain population was 22 crore, which has diminished over the years and now the Jain population is only around 60 to 70 lakh across the world. Like Parsi community, Jain community is also a diminishing community. Hence the Congress government, when they were in power, gave minority status to Jain community. Manish Shah is a prominent Jain leader.  He is connected with and plays key role in around 16 Jain organizations.
