Deven Choksey of KR Choksey and Securities told CNBC-TV18, "We like some of the housing finance companies for investment purpose largely because we believe that affordable housing would be the theme which the government would play on in order to give thrust to the economy and that is where instead of betting on the real estate companies, we are betting on the housing finance companies where they are relatively much better placed compared to management of the risk in the business concerned."

"For an investor, this is an opportunity where 20-25 percent or 30 percent kind of a growth in the credit lending do take place. In a falling interest rate scenario, they have better prospect as well for the management of the net interest margins (NIMs). So from that perspective, we like housing finance as a play where we would like to stay on invested and concentrate on some of the good quality companies for building portfolio further," he said.
