Sudarshan Sukhani of s2analytics.com told CNBC-TV18, "I would expect pharma to go through a very protracted period of correction and consolidation before it again makes those gains. So, 2014 is probably not the year of pharma. It is far better to stay away from it. 2014 will be about the sectors like metals, real estate, a lot of cyclicals will come into play and oil and gas. It won’t be pharma and even IT may take a backseat."
On December 30, 2013 Ranbaxy Laboratories ended at Rs 452.60, down Rs 11.05, or 2.38 percent.
The share touched its 52-week high Rs 525.00 and 52-week low Rs 253.95 on 03 January, 2013 and 02 August, 2013, respectively.
