Infosys shares rose 0.5 percent to Rs 1,500.40 on Tuesday after the IT major announced a landmark GBP 1.2 billion (over Rs 14,000 crore) contract from the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) to deliver a new workforce management solution for England and Wales. The stock recovered from early losses to trade in the green ahead of its second-quarter financial results, which are scheduled for release on Thursday.

Under the 15-year contract, Infosys will replace the existing Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system with the Future NHS Workforce Solution, a next-generation platform that will continue to manage payroll for 1.9 million NHS employees, amounting to over GBP 55 billion annually. The new data-driven system will modernise how the NHS attracts, retains, and supports its workforce -- an effort aligned with the 10-year Health Plan aimed at building a future-ready healthcare system.
