Shahina Mukadam of Varun Capital told CNBC-TV18, "I do not think State Bank of India’s results is going to be good, in the sense that we have seen most of the banking numbers are reflecting pressure on net interest margins (NIMs). I think even SBI will report NIMs pressure and if it is able to prevent any further deterioration in asset quality but at the same time valuations at 1.6 times is attractive."
"One can buy half the quantity now and then buy half the quantity post numbers and then look for price of about Rs 1,800 to Rs 1,900," she adds.
At 15:29 hrs State Bank of India was quoting at Rs 1,620, down Rs 1.55, or 0.10 percent.
