Deven Choksey, MD of KR Choksey Shares told CNBC-TV18, "If you have to trade then some of the banks which are available at closer to book value would make an argument for including in the portfolio. And the argument for the largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) would be much stronger. It is still available at close to one time price to book value on FY15 earning estimates. So from that perspective I think SBI looks interesting. Even adding Bank of Baroda and Bank of India also in the portfolio would be an interesting move that one could take.”
“Within the PSU basket you have the valuation game which one could play. Within the private sector space the valuation-cum-theme which would drive some of the private sector bank stocks like IndusInd Bank or Axis Bank and ICICI Bank could make an entry into the portfolio. So certainly they are looking interesting given the valuation at which they are available currently," he added.
