This week, Ashish Kapur of Investshoppe, Nooresh Merani of AMSEC Securities and Pankaj Jain of Sunteck Wealthmax battle it out for top honours. Below their top stock picks and analysis: Ashish Kapur of Investshoppe
My first recommendation for the day is a short position on Central Bank of India. This is one bank in particular in the public sector banking space where the results were very disappointing. The decline in net interest income coupled with increase pressure on NIMs. Also the asset quality deteriorated further where both the gross as well as net NPAs increasing significantly. Hence we feel that after the run up there is likely to be some profit booking in the PSU bank space and this one being one of the weaker banks would bear the brunt of any selling pressure which emerges in the market.
My second call for the day is a long position on Prestige Estates with a target at Rs 113 and a stop loss at Rs 101.50. Prestige Estates is a real estate company present in the Bangalore real estate market. Bangalore is a real estate market which is going very well compared to the other real estate market. It is a very healthy market and this coupled with the fact that this company enjoys very good reputation and has a very good track record of execution makes us believe that this is one stock which can deliver very handsome returns in times to come.
My third call for the day is a long position on Godrej Industries with a target at Rs 269 and a stop loss at Rs 246. This is another company where the results have been fairly encouraging. The company is doing very well acquiring new brands, having its presence in various markets so the core business of the company is doing very well. One midcap stock because of the strong fundamentals we can expect buying to continue coupled with the fact that they have a 70% stake in Godrej Properties and Godrej properties is again fairly strong play in the real estate market with very good projects in the development. We feel that the fundamentals are fairly good and the stock is available at very reasonable valuations.
My final call for the day is a long position on Alstom Projects with a target at Rs 404 and a stop loss at Rs 366. Alstom Projects though the results were a bit disappointing especially on the bottom-line front but nevertheless the company has very good stage of execution of various projects in the hydro-electric power space. The company plans to have its presence in the infrastructure and power business. Given India
