Land Ahoy: UP govt will map vacant industrial plots to unlock growth

There are over 42,000 industrial units in the areas developed by nine industrial bodies across the state, over 15,000 of which are in Gautam Budh Nagar alone.

In order to utilise vacant land parcels in different industrial projects across the state, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has decided to collate data from all functional and non-functional projects and prepare a land bank, officials aware of the development said.

Over 42,000 industrial units are functional in the areas developed by nine industrial bodies across the state, including Noida, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC), and others.

According to government estimates, in Gautam Budh Nagar district alone there are around 15,000 functional industrial projects  under the Noida, GNIDA, and YEIDA authorities.

The other industrial bodies in UP include the Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA), Satharia Industrial Development Authority (SIDA), Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), and UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).
