Ride-hailing platform Ola on January 26 announced the launch of its e-bike service in Delhi and Hyderabad and said that it will also expand its e-bike fleet in Bengaluru after witnessing a successful pilot in the city. Ola has also set up 200 charging stations in Bengaluru to service its e-bike fleet and plans to install an extensive charging network in all markets it operates in.
With prices as low as Rs 25 for 5 km, Rs 50 for 10 km, Rs 75 for 15 km, the Ola e-bike service will be the “most affordable, sustainable, and convenient solution to commute within the cities”, the company said in a release.
Commenting on the launch, Hemant Bakshi, CEO, Ola Mobility, said: “Following the massive success of our Bangalore e-Bike taxi pilot, we have proven its sustainable value proposition for all ecosystem participants - the consumer (lower price), the driver (higher earnings), and Ola (new category and revenues), and now look at mass deployments across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad and build a larger market for e-Bike taxis in India.”

At Ola, driving affordable mobility through electrification is our priority and in line with our vision to serve one billion Indians.”
Ola recently announced that its India Mobility Business has turned EBITDA positive in FY23 and with the deployment of these vehicles, it will have the largest EV two-wheeler fleet in the country. The company plans to double down and scale up e-bike services throughout India by the end of this year.
