Equity funds delivered better performance than in the last few days on account of markets recovery. All the equity funds closed with positive returns. Funds belonging to broader indices Small & Mid cap and ELSS were among the top performers with a recorded advance: decline ratio of 46:1 and 48:1 respectively. Meanwhile the ratio recorded for Large cap and Diversified Equity were 72: 6 and 89: 5.
The sector funds also cheered as the market closed in a positive terrain. Banking & Finance and Technology which were seen loosing finally recovered in previous trading session with no losers registered. Accordingly, all the sector funds surged with no decline.
The experts expect markets to be rangebound but also feel that a further upmove in oil prices could lead to a sharper correction. The 30-share Sensex rose 42.81 points, to close at 17,316.18 while the 50-share Nifty gained 17.80 points at 5,274.85, even after fall in global markets.
In the Debt space, the uptick continues led by large auction supply. Both the Long term and Short term category funds closed in a green zone. While Long term category funds witnessed few decline, none were seen in Short term category. Check out all mutual fund gainers & losers Here is the day
