Expect moderately positive returns in 2012: JPMorgan AMC

Here are experts equity calls for the day on how the markets are expected to trade: 

Dan Morris, JPMorgan AMC: We expect moderately positive returns for global equities in 2012. We also expect the US to continue to outperform other developed markets. Following a period of underperformance, the potential returns for emerging markets appear reasonably good over the remainder of the year, although much depends on the policy response and policy outlook is quite unclear for Brazil and India.

Abhay Laijawala, Deutsche Securities: Falling oil prices are likely to act as a positive catalyst for market performance. It seems like the right time to add bit of risk to the portfolio as we expect the tactical rally to continue in the near-term. Accordingly we have increased weightage on Tata Steel, Yes Bank, L&T & ONGC and gone underweight on names like Infosys, HDFC Bank, TCS and Aurobindo Pharma.
