It was absolute mayhem at the markets today. The indices opened on a muted note, and things just kept getting worse. Across-the-board selling dragged the Nifty below key resistance levels, before late short covering helped erase some of the losses. The Nifty finally ended with a 92 point cut and the Sensex lost 288 points to close at 18,395.
