Mkt needs good news on Friday to pull itself higher: Udayan

The market ended on a slightly bearish note with Nifty at around 5,039 levels, down 11 points and Sensex shut shop 41 points lower at 16,805 levels. Even though the session was uneventful, the near-term uptrend, which began last week, still seemed intact. Market needs some good news on Friday to pull itself even higher, Mukherjee indicated.

The market ended on a slightly bearish note with Nifty at around 5,039 levels, down 11 points and Sensex shut shop 41 points lower at 16,805 levels.


The Nifty had a 350-point rally last week. The morning, it fell very quickly to 5,000-5,050 kind of trading range and spent the entire day toing and froing in that range, finally closing absolutely flat, said CNBC-TV18's Managing Editor Udayan Mukherjee. He pointed out that the market had a quiet session of consolidation today.
The volumes were on the thinner side because there was no great trend visible in today
