IT, tech firms stay in ‘wait and watch’ mode as Indo-Pak tensions settle

Indian information technology (IT) and consulting companies are continuing to monitor the India-Pakistan situation closely and are still in a “wait and watch” mode.

The development comes after India agreed to Pakistan’s request of not escalating the clashes any further on May 10, after the neighbouring country called on India’s Director General of Military Operations.

HCLTech employees confirmed to Moneycontrol that the WFH advisory was limited to Friday, May 9. “I am in the office,” an employee said on the condition of anonymity. However, HCLTech employees are required to be in the office three days a week, in any case.

Meanwhile, Deloitte, which had activated an all-India command centre hotline and suspended non-essential travel, remains in a "wait and watch" mode, sources told Moneycontrol. “We will also wait for any government advisory, especially regarding travel,” a person familiar with the matter said.
