Cooperation from states will be helpful for Centre: KPMG

Santosh Kamath said the Centre can have discretionary powers over the state which will be really helpful in pushing all the projects and that will be a big positive for the government and the people.

The Cabinet is likely to take up land and mining ordinance this week after picking coal and insurance ordinance last week. The Prime Minister’s Office, finance minister and law minister finalised the two ordinances over the weekend.

Reacting to this news, Santosh Kamath, Partner - Infratructure and Government Services, KPMG said the Centre can have discretionary powers over the state which will be really helpful in pushing through some of the permits and clearances. "The value of time in this case is very high. So, that itself is the benefit I would feel," he added.

He also said that any cooperation from states will be helpful and will be the right way forward for the fast clearance of projects. Watch the video for full interview
