At Network18's The Think India Dialogue, Rahul Khullar, chairman, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) talks about the reforms in the telecom sector. He said the telecom regulator has moved a TRAI Act Amendment proposal to the Department of Telecom, according to which a non-IAS officer should be appointed as the TRAI Chairman.

He also added that the problems faced by the telecom sector such as cancellation of telecom services last year in the 2G spectrum case and the government's policies such as retrospective tax laws have nothing to do with the foreign direct investment cap in the sector.
