Downward revision seen in H1 growth in FY11: Statistician

India's GDP growth in the first half of the current fiscal year to end-March is expected to be revised downwards from 8.9% provisional estimate, Chief Statistician of India TCA Anant said on Monday.

India's GDP growth in the first half of the current fiscal year to end-March is expected to be revised downwards from 8.9% provisional estimate, Chief Statistician of India TCA Anant said on Monday.

Anant also said the government will release a new monthly CPI data series from February 18. India's economy is expected to grow at 8.6% in the fiscal year that ends in March, the government said earlier on Monday, powered by expansion in the services sector and roughly in line with market forecasts.
