Q3 boosted by commissioning project worth Rs 17000cr: Power Grid

In an interview with CNBC-TV18, IS Jha, Chairman & MD, Power Grid, discussed the company's third quarter earnings.Below is the transcript of IS Jha’s interview with Navin Shetty on CNBC-TV18.Q: How was the quarter?A: This quarter was very good for Power Grid. We have done 23 percent growth in the income. Net profit, we have gone up by 31 percent. And this all happened because we were able to capitalise, commission the project worth Rs 17,000 crore in one quarter. This is never seen. That is making the total of Rs 26,800 crore in this year, nine months. If you remember that so far, the last year was the highest. It was Rs 21,700 crore capitalisation in one year. This year we are in nine month, we are able to achieve near about Rs 26,800 crore. That is really marvellous. We are very happy with that.Q: Talking about the capitalisation. Going ahead, if you could just give some guidance on how the capitalisation position will be in the near-term as well as for FY17?A: If you remember that when the year started, we had kept the target of Rs 26,000-28,000 crore capitalisation. Out of this Rs 26,000-28,000 crore, we have already achieved Rs 27,000 crore. That is why this year, we are going to cross this target. Next year also, our target will be in the same order. We are 100 percent sure that we will achieve that also. It is going to be strong and more than the capital expenditure.
