Looking at 8-10 percent growth in exports: Greenlam Industries

Greenlam Industries expects volumes in its laminates business to grow 10-12 percent over the next couple of quarters with margins sustaining around 15 percent, the company's Joint MD and CEO Saurabh Mittal told CNBC-TV18.He said the veneer business is doing well, but new segments like engineered flooring and engineered doors are losing money. Mittal expects the segment to break even operationally by the end of this year.The company's exports for the June quarter declined year-on-year, but were up quarter-on-quarter. Mittal expects an 8-10 percent growth in exports this year.The company's board has approved the setting up of a new laminates plant, which will increase capacity to 14 million tonnes in a year's time, up from 12 million tonnes currently.Mittal said the capacity utilisation in laminates during the June quarter was 102-103 percent, and he said the utilisation would be maximised before the new plant came up.
