Vodafone India, the country's second largest telecoms firm, today said its revenues grew from Rs 37,606 crore in the fiscal year 2013-14 to Rs 42,352 crore in the fiscal gone by (2014-15).
The unlisted company said its strong revenue performance was driven by strong customer additions and robust growth in data revenues.
EBITDA stood at Rs 12,605 crore (margin 29.6 percent) versus Rs 10,847 crore, it stated in its earnings press release. It did not disclose its net profit.
The company's data revenues came in at Rs 5,690 crore, a jump of 65 percent year-over-year. This was driven by a 140 percent increase in 3G data revenues.
Vodafone said the number of 3G users on the network increased 175 percent during the year, from 7 million to 19.4 million. Average revenue per user (for data) increased from Rs 120 in fourth quarter FY2014 to Rs 141 in Q4FY2015.
Among other businesses, Vodafone Business Services and m-Pesa also grew strongly, according to the company.
Vodafone India is the highest contributor to Vodafone Group Plc's service revenue growth and its largest data traffic market by volume. It is also the group's third-largest contributor to revenues.
In an affirmation that the Vodafone Group remains committed to doing business in India despite the continuing logjam of a multi-thousand crore tax case, it said it had made Rs 6,000 crore of fresh equity infusion into the Indian company.
