Ramadorai to advise Ratan Tata over Mistry row: Sources

S Ramadorai, who resigned from the government's skill development bodies yesterday, will advise Ratan Tata in the feud involving ex-Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry. Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that the TCS veteran, however, is unlikely to be inducted on the Tata Sons board.

S Ramadorai, who resigned from the government's skill development bodies yesterday, will advise Ratan Tata in the feud involving ex-Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry.Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that the TCS veteran, however, is unlikely to be inducted on the Tata Sons board. This quashes speculation that Ramadorai could be in the running for the post of chairman at the salt-to-software conglomerate.After Mistry was ousted as Chairman in a sudden move recently, Ratan Tata is expected to serve as Interim Chairman till a successor is found.The decision to remove Mistry has sparked a battle between the Tatas and Mistry's Shapoorji Pallonji, the largest outside shareholder in the Tata Group.Among other contenders that are said to be in fray include Ramadorai's successor at TCS N Chandrasekaran and PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi.Sources further told CNBC-TV18 Tata veterans Prasad Menon (former MD of Tata Power and Tata Chemicals) and N Srinath (former MD of Tata Communications & current MD of Tata Teleservices) have been assigned to office of interim Chairman.
