FM Arun Jaitley's Budget may not have doled out goodies for the pharma sector, but will boost economic growth in the long-term, says Dr Reddy's Saumen Chakraborty. He adds that the final blueprint of US President Donald Trump's pharma policy will determine the company's manufacturing and expansion plans in the United States.Chakraborty is pleased with the announcements for the infrastructure, manufacturing and the SMEs sectors. but he says the Budget hasn't yet met the mark on pharma and education expenditure. "Ideally, expected minor relief on corporate taxes this year," he says.He expects an eventual tapering down of corporate taxes. He is not too concerned about US President's initial comments on drug pricing. He says he is awaiting the US policy on increase in import duty of drugs. Watch video for more.
