Pidilite Industries won “The Most Promising Company of the Year” award at the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards.The company is the market leader in adhesives and sealants, construction chemicals, hobby colours and polymer emulsions in India. 'Fevicol' is the most famous brand of the company, which has become synonymous with adhesives to millions of Indians.
From the sidelines of the awards ceremony, Managing Director Bharat Puri spoke about his outlook for the business going forward. He said the company will continue blazing new trails and chart its own path.
When asked what he thought of the competition that may come in from the likes of Asian Paints that would be entering the adhesive space, Puri said competition will only help expand the market. The penetration is still low and there is lot of scope for growth. "Our job as leaders is to create categories," he said.
Wherever we can take the Pidilite model and make it a success, be it within India or outside, we will create a world class Indian multinational.
