The India Meteorological Department (IMD) department has recently revised its monsoon forecast.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, KU Subbaiah, CEO of VST Tillers Tractors and Sumit Mazumder, Executive Chairman & MD of TIL gave a ground check on the current demand for farm and agricultural equipment and spoke about the kind of growth industry is expecting post the IMD's revision.
Considering that monsoon is going to be normal, we expect sale of our agricultural products, predominantly tractors and tillers, should be in-line with our expectations, said Subbaiah.
He expects demand for tillers to generate further, going ahead.
He further added that demand for tractors will improve due to new launches.
Subbaiah sees robust growth in tiller sales in Odisha.
VST Tillers is looking to sell 11,000 tractors and 30,000 tillers in FY18.
TIL's Sumit Mazumder said that construction equipment demand has been improving.
