Christopher Nassetta joined Hilton Hotel Cooperation as President and CEO in December 2007, after private equity group Blackstone bought the hotel company for USD 26 billion in cash and took it private. Since then Nessetta has had to steer this multinational hospitality giant through some rather inhospitable conditions brought on by the global financial crisis.
He also inherited a broken alliance in India with the Oberoi Group of Hotels, partly due to which Hilton is far behind other large international hotel chains in the country.
