Having won a legal tussle, Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Thursday finally launched its generic Allegra tablets, Fexofenadine HCl, in the US market. DRL will market the over-the-counter product under store brand labels in the US market.

In June last year, French drug maker Sanofi Aventis, which also sells the anti-allergy drug Allegra, had obtained a court injunction against DRL launching Allegra-D24, based on grounds of patent infringement.
But this year, a US District Court and the US FDA both gave the green signal to India's second-biggest drug maker, to go ahead with the US launch of the product.
