See coal, environment min complying to power needs: Shinde

Amidst rising concerns of coal shortage and its impact on power production, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called for a meeting yesterday to discuss the eroding fuel supply situation. Talking about the issue, power minister Sushilkumar Shinde said, "As per the 11th Five Year Plan, there's in no shortfall in the availability of coal as seven out the eight coal blocks have been cleared."


After receiving clearance on blocks from the government, he now hopes that the Coal and Environment Ministry will comply to the country
