Bengal govt must award appropriate compensation: Sona Koyo

West Bengal has passed the Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Bill, 2011. Concerns arose, however, over the passing of a separate bill instead of amending the Central Land Acquisition Act. This is expected to invite unnecessary complications and defeat the purpose of returning land to their owners.
