Ambuja seeks more time for Nadikudi greenfield cement plant

Cement player, Ambuja Cements has asked for more time from the state government for executing its proposed greenfield cement plant at Nadikudi in Guntur district, reports Business Standard.

Cement player, Ambuja Cements has asked for a time extension from the state government for executing its proposed greenfield cement plant at Nadikudi in Guntur district, reports Business Standard.

It is learnt that, Ajay Kapur the business head - South and West of Ambuja Cements wrote a letter to the chief secretary late last month seeking time to execute the project till December 2013. He stated that the company now wants to increase the project size to 5.75-million tonne capacity.

Ambuja Cements received all the necessary approvals, including limestone mining leases, in 2008 for the project. The project was originally proposed with a 2-million tonne capacity along with a grinding unit at Kakinada with an investment of Rs 600 crore.
