German clinical laboratory Medizinisch Diagnostiche Institute (MDI) said it plans to invest Rs 150 crore and hopes to achieve a turnover of Rs 350 crore in 2015 in its Indian subsidiary MDI Laboratories."We have drawn up a Rs 150-crore expansion plan over the next three years period," MDI Laboratories India director Devendu Mehta said.
"We plan to install world-class machines and Web-based software in 25 hospital-labs across the country and set up over 2,000 collection centres and a logistics network to transport samples and expand the network in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bangalore," he said. India's pathological laboratory sector is estimated at USD 4.8 billion by 2015.
