Q: Can you tell us how much operations have been affected by the recent floods? How much of power generation you have lost? A: In terms of days, there is almost 4.5-5 days loss of generation cost due to heavy silt in the river Satluj and cloud burst in and around upper stream of the dam. In terms of monetary loss, it will be something around Rs 40-45 crore, but yet I would like to tell you even today, our generation is more than same period of last year. Q: How much is that? A: The plant availability factor is almost 105%. Q: How much longer will your power units be shut? When at all can you expect normal generation? A: First shutdown was on June 10, 2013. The total duration of this shutdown was for 25 hours. Generation loss was 37.5 million units. The second shutdown was on June 16, 2013. This shutdown was for 73 hours and generation loss was 109.29 million units. If you add it together, these two itself are somewhere around 150 million units. Third shutdown started from 7:30 AM till 7:30 PM. All the plants were restored at 8:30 PM yesterday.
