Coal India's output in June at 32.5 MT; misses target

Coal india produced 32.5 million tonnes of coal in June against the month's target of 35 million tonnes. The company's offtake in June was 37 MT against the target of 39.8 MT, CIL said a filing to BSE.

Coal India (CIL) today said it produced 32.5 million tonnes (MT) of coal in June, missing the month's target of 35 MT.

The company's offtake in June was 37 MT against the target of 39.8 MT, CIL said a filing to BSE. While the CIL's offtake in the past two months was 115 MT, against the target which was 120.7 MT, it added. The Coal Ministry has set a production target of 482 MT and off-take of 492 MT for Coal India for 2013-14. A CIL release said the target was set in a MoU signed with the company's CMD S Narsing Rao and Coal Secretary S K Srivastava. The state-run firm achieved an output of only 452.5 MT in the fiscal, missing the target of 464 MT.
