Peer review found no fault in CAG audit on 2G: Vinod Rai

Former CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) Vinod Rai, in an interview to CNBC-TV18, defends the authenticity of the CAG report on 2G auctions and adds that a global peer review found no fault with the auditing framework of the CAG.

In an interview with Network18's Karan Thapar, former CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) Vinod Rai defended the CAG's report on the 2G spectrum auction.


Vinod Rai added that the CAG has followed best  practices while auditing the loss in the 2G auctions. "In India, the CAG is generically referred to as the supreme audit institution. The peer review was conducted by a team of 14 constituted by the Auditor General of Australia and comprising experts from Australia, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Denmark and Canada, said Rai. "The report has not found any fault in our auditing framework and was placed on the CAG website in 2012."
