Refusing to take the blame for the delay in rolling out Goods and Services Tax (GST), BJP leader Yashwant Sinha told CNBC-TV18 that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was politicizing the matter. "GST is still work in progress" with Union finance ministry and state finance ministry panel looking into it, he said.

He clarified that the government is attempting a completely new approach on the tax now and the House panel’s report on the GST Bill should be presented in Monsoon Session.

He also warned that any change made on the provisos on Companies Bill will be disastrous and meet the same fate as the Lokpal Bill. "Hope the Companies' Bill is passed in Rajya Sabha in Monsoon Session," he said. In the previous session of Parliament, Lok Sabha had passed the Companies Bill.

Sinha also brough to notice Finance Minister P Chidambaram's reservation on the DTC Bill, that was cleared by the House panel on March 9, 2011 when Pranab Mukherjee was serving as finance minister.
