Opto Circuit's group company, Cardiac Science Corporation, has got some new orders and will begin supply of the same by the end of January. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, V Bhaskar, director of Opto Circuits shares details.

“Cardiac Science Corporation will supply Powerheart G3 AEDs to all Chicago-area Metra commuter trains and other Metra facilities by the end of January," Bhaskar adds.

Bhaskar further says that the two units of the Malaysian facility are already operational with the third one likely to start by the end of this month.

Below is an edited transcript of V Bhaskar's interview CNBC-TV18.

Q: What exactly is the Powerheart G3 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that your arm will be supplying? What could the revenue picture look like?

A: This is the Powerheart AED that we have been supplying all over the US and in about 150 countries. Now, Chicago Metra is added to this and we expect to be supplying about 440 AEDs of them in the next few months for use in the Chicago Metra and also the Chicago police.

Q: Should we expect that you are going to find greater usage for it in other areas as well, in other countries, other geographies or is this too specialised only for this particular buyer?

A: These AEDs were being supplied to the airports, to the metros around the world. Even in Europe these are supplied to the highways as a first-aid product. We have almost 350,000 AEDs out there in the market place.

Q: How is this going to translate into revenue for you, what will be the contribution?

A: Twenty percent of our total revenue comes from AED. We have been supplying to highway authorities in various countries, we have been supplying to the metro, fire stations, schools and colleges.

Q: How are your debtor days doing, have you seen any decline at all because the last time you spoke to us your debtor days were increasing?

A: We expect an improvement of close to 8-10 days by quarter of March 2013.

Q: Is your Malaysian unit expected to be on-stream in this month, are things on track there, when would you be expecting the commissioning?

A: No, in fact two of the units are already operational and the third unit is expected to start by the end of this month.
