TN Maritime Board handles 16.11 lakh tonnes cargo

Tamil Nadu Maritime Board has handled 16.11 lakh tonne of cargo last year, generating revenues of Rs 9.46 crore. According to an official release, the Board handled total cargo of 16.11 lakh tonne through 22 minor ports and generated revenues of Rs 9.46 crore to the group turnover of Rs 27.84 crore for the period 2010-11.

Tamil Nadu Maritime Board has handled 16.11 lakh tonne of cargo last year, generating revenues of Rs 9.46 crore.


According to an official release, the Board handled total cargo of 16.11 lakh tonne through 22 minor ports and generated revenues of Rs 9.46 crore to the group turnover of Rs 27.84 crore for the period 2010-11.
In 2009-10, Tamil Nadu Maritime Board handled cargoes of 11.74 lakh tonnes.
The release also said construction of the board's headquarters at a cost of Rs 15 crore here was likely to be completed in October.
State Minister for Highways and Minor Ports Edappadi K Palaniswami inspected the construction work.
