Hope ban on plastic packaging in gutka is lifted: Ester Ind

The hearing for ban on plastic packaging in gutka is now scheduled for January 17. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Arvind Singhania, chairman and managing director of Ester Industries says, the hearing has been postponed three-four times already. "We are really hoping and praying that the hearing goes through on January 17, the new date."

According to him, once this ban is reversed, there will be some relief and margins will improve.

Q: We understand that the hearing for ban on plastic packaging in gutka is now scheduled for January 17. It has been postponed a multiple number of times. Do you think it is going to come through at this point? How positive would you be about a positive hearing?

A; It is very difficult to say because the matter is subjudice before the honourable Supreme Court. The hearing has been postponed three-four times already. We are really hoping and praying that the hearing goes through on January 17, the new date.
