Six DMK ministers, including chemicals and fertilizer minister MK Alagiri, will submit their resignations to the Prime Minister. Furthermore, with growing differences between ministers, the reforms in the sector have been creating buzz.
Commenting on the issue, fertilizer secretary Sutanu Behuria said the committee of secretaries (CoS) had not submitted their report yet and expected the same to come within the next two months. "We have looked at two models but we had some reservations on its implementation. Thus, we are trying to do a few changes and see what we come up with," he told CNBC-TV18's Udayan Mukherjee and Mitali Mukherjee in an exclusive interview. Further he said that a formula to increase efficiency and be equitable was needed. "We expect additional subsidy outflow of Rs 14,000-15,000 crore in financial year 2012," he added.
