Govt, telecom operators face off over 3G roaming issue

In a move that has angered many telecom operators, the Department of Telecom declared roaming pacts for 3G services as illegal on the ground that they breach licence conditions. This announcement has delivered a blow to companies such as Vodafone and Bharti Airtel who are dependent on this for a turnaround in their revenues.
