Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover's global sales in March rose 16 percent year-on-year at 53,772 units, its best ever monthly sales performance, helped by strong response for its new launches like Range Rover and Jaguar XF Sportbrake, and continued demand for the Evoque. Jaguar sales surged 28 percent from a year ago to 9,856 units and Land Rover sales were up 14 percent to 43,916 units, last month. JLR's sales in the UK were up 14 percent to 17,784 units in March. China JLR sales gained 22 percent to 8,487 units. Jaguar sales in China almost doubled last month to 1,592 cars. In Europe, JLR sales rose 11 percent helped by record March sales in Austria and Germany. Among other markets, India sales accelerated 28 percent year-on-year in March. "Jaguar Land Rover is seeing continued year on year growth following the introduction of new models, engines and drivetrains with the Jaguar XF Sportbrake, new Range Rover and Range Rover Evoque amongst our top selling models," said Phil Popham, group sales operations director for JLR. For the Jan-March quarter, the British luxury unit saw its global retail sales accelerate 17 percent to 1.16 lakh units.
