KEC International wins orders worth Rs 1,253 cr; shrs surge

KEC International has won new orders worth Rs 1,253 crore across its various businesses.

Engineering and construction company KEC International has won new orders worth Rs 1,253 crore across its various businesses. The RPG group company said it has won Rs 723 crore worth orders for transmission lines and towers from Saudi Arabia, United States and Afghanistan. It has received Rs 253 crore orders from Kenya, India and Philippines for substation works and six new orders worth Rs 123 crore for constructing canals in Madhya Pradesh and flood protection works in West Bengal. KEC International has also won Rs 105 crore worth orders in the cable business and Rs 49 crore orders in the telecom business. The company now has an order book of Rs 9,000 crore, following these new orders, said Ramesh Chandak, MD and CEO. KEC International shares were up 8.2% at Rs 39.50 on NSE in morning trade on Wednesday.
