After petrol and diesel, the domestic liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder prices have been hiked by over Rs 50 in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities from March 22, 2022.
As per the new rates, the cost of a 14.2 kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 50 to Rs 949.50 per cylinder in Delhi and Mumbia, reported CNBC TV-18. In Kolkata, customers will now have to pay Rs 976 for the same.
In Lucknow, an LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 987.50, while the retail price in Patna will be at Rs 1,039.50. In Chennai, a cylinder will cost Rs 965.50.
The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has been increased for the first time since October 2021. Prices have been on a freeze since then despite the cost of raw material spiralling.

A five KG LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 349 while the 10 kg composite bottle will come for Rs 669. The 19 kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2003.50.
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) also increased petrol and diesel prices by 80 paise on Tuesday. Petrol will now cost Rs 96.21 per litre in Delhi, while you will have to pay Rs 87.47 per litre for diesel. In Mumbai, petrol will now cost Rs 110.78, while diesel would cost Rs 94.94 per litre.
This was the first fuel price hike since November 2, 2021. The government took a series of duty cuts to keep the fuel rates unaffected despite volatility in the international crude oil market. Crude oil prices have shot up over 25 percent since the last hike in November.
The latest price hike implies consumers will have to pay more for fuel, but still, the increase is less than one percent of the per litre price that is prevalent right now.
