After targetting cars, the National Green Tribunal is now training its guns on realtors in the National Capital Region. In an order issued on Friday, the tribunal has warned that all projects that are in violation of the 2010 guidelines issued by the green ministry will be stalled.
It also said that the onus is on the government to ensure compliance with sustainable building norms. Delhi, UP and the Haryana governments should also regulate mining activities.
NGT also said all builders must develop green belt around projects and the final clearance will be sunject to that. Further, cases of non-compliance and violations will be penalized.
“A strong message will be sent out once few projects are stalled. Projects with clearance, but violating 2010 norms will face action,” the NGT said.
