Money from broadcast rights can't be disclosed: BCCI to SC

The cricket body says it is in full compliance with local and central laws and has necessary checks and balances

Despite the recommendations made by the Lodha panel to the Supreme Court on ensuring more transparency in BCCI's operations, the cricketing body is unflinching in its earlier position that it is not amenable to an oversight mechanism.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that it is not accountable to furnish details of money raised from broadcast rights.The cricket body says it is in full compliance with local and central laws and has necessary checks and balances, reports CNCB-TV18's Ashmit Kumar.This comes in the wake of observations made by the SC for the cricket board. The apex court believes that the presence of government officials and politicians allows BCCI room for undue influence. It adds that the body is refusing to reform despite discharging a public function.
