Infosys signs $500 mn deal with British Petroleum

This deal, a five year group wide supplier agreement, also marks BP's return into outsourcing and hushes all talk of the company slashing down on work with Infosys.

The impact of Infosys’ new managing director and chief executive officer Vishal Sikka is being felt in just a month. Infosys has won its first big deal worth USD 500 million since Sikka’s appointment with none other British Petroleum.

This deal, that is a five year group wide supplier agreement, also marks BP's return into outsourcing and hushes all talk of the company slashing down on work with Infosys.

The deal, effective September 1, 2014, will provide application support and development to BP in running, enhancing and developing business applications.

The deal focuses on BP’s main facilities in Houston, Texas, UK, Azerbaijan, Angola, Brazil and Singapore.
